Examples of Grid-connected Systems

Examples of retrofit solar electricity systems
Blue solar panels cover an area of 378 square metres on the roof of the Ikea furniture company’s headquarters in Sweden. This is Sweden’s largest grid-connected solar electricity system with a total rating of about 50 kWp.
In the main entrance there is a display system that shows the present rate of energy production. During the summer time, from May to August, solar electricity covers 15 % of the whole building’s total energy need (in a year 8,5 %).
Naps has developed many easy ways to mount the standard modules on different types of metal and tiled roofs. Typically solar electricity systems for a residential house are 1- 5 kWp in size. Here is a 1kW Naps Solar Roof system.

As part of their environmental program this supermarket uses solar modules to produce part of the total electricity. Their customers are happy!

Solar modules can replace conventional building materials and form part of the building structure. In this renovation project of an apartment building, part of the facade is covered with solar modules.

Examples of fully-integrated solar electricity systems
Naps has solutions that maybe installed in an individual house too. Our systems can for example be used ‘roof-integrated’, where solar modules replace some of the roof tiles. The electricity produced can be used in the house itself. In some countries the solar electricity can be sold to the utility company.
Our integrated solar electricity modules are ideal for combining aesthetic, ecological and technical features. In this building the solar modules truly are an integral part of the building, as the exterior envelope replaces conventional roofing materials. The roof is a sunshade which combine electricity production with sun protection.
Electricity-generating solar modules replaced part of the balcony walls during renovation of an apartment building in Copenhagen, Denmark.
