More and more people use boats during their free time living at weekends and holiday seasons. Navigation equipment and other equipment such as lighting and refrigeration need quite a lot power. Charging batteries can be a problem, especially in the sailing boat, if the boat is anchored in a natural harbour. Most boats are totally dependent on the power from batteries. The solar module we provide increases safety on board. Thanks to solar electricity, the engine doesn’t have to be started just to charge the batteries.

In Nordic countries thousands of boat owners have equipped their boats with solar modules over the last decade. A suitable module size for a boat with only a few lights is a 12 or 24-Watt module. If you are going to use more energy for instance if you have a refrigerator you might need the larger versions. On a normal summer day anywhere in Europe a 50-Watt module will charge the battery with 15-20 Ah if mounted flat on a boat deck, in a situation without excessive shading.

Naps’ systems for boat, caravan or cottage use – are easy to install and they can be measured to meet customer’s needs. They can be expanded later if needed. Solar electricity system is quiet. It operates noiselessly, without causing any disturbance. Furthermore, it is emission-free.

The systems for cottages are sold in Nordic countries only. Information can be obtained through local web site www.naps.se (in Swedish only) or by ordering a brochure in Finnish or by downloading the brochures from our datasheet library.
