Solar Energy for Boats and Caravans

Any solar module can be used on a boat. However, the often limited space for mounting a module on deck makes it difficult to fit a standard module. To make fitting simpler Naps has made special solar modules designed especially for mounting on boats. Our specially-designed modules are suitable for marine environments, thanks to the fully sealed nature of the laminate and stainless steel construction. The low profile and integral mounting holes make them particularly suitable for mounting on boat decks, even when slightly curved.

A solar electricity system for a boat or camping car comprises a solar module, a charge controller and some cables to connect the components. It is very simple to make the connection. You just connect the module to the charge controller and then to the storage battery. It doesn’t matter what the existing system is like. You just add the solar electricity system in parallel. And the system is safe: a blocking diode in the controller prevents any current from going the wrong way.
