Naps supplies 31 roof-integrated systems to the Primrose Hill Solar Village Project in Huddersfield
31 new houses owned by Yorkshire Housing have been equipped with 1 kWp Naps NSRI grid-connected roof-integrated solar power systems as part of Kirklees Metropolitan Council's Sun Cities project. These were installed during 2006 by our installation partner Filsol. The systems use Naps solar panels with special Solrif frames which allow the panels to be integrated into the slate roofs. Each house has 10 Solrif frame NR100G24 solar panels and 1 SWR1100E inverter. Careful positioning of the solar panels reduces the shading losses to a minimum, due to the sawtooth roof design. The houses also have solar thermal collectors integrated into the roofs.
This is the second part of an exciting project to create a 'solar village' in the Primrose Hill area. Naps also designed and supplied materials for 58
1 kWp retrofit PV systems for older houses in 2005, also a large 24 kWp roof solar power system for a new multiple occupancy building being built later in 2006.
