Naps Systems completed the world's largest village solar electrification project
Equipping 587 villages with its solar systems, Naps Systems successfully executed the world’s largest village solar electrification project.
Commissioned by the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government of Sri Lanka and supported by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign affairs, the completion of the project was part of a joint effort to develop education and health care facilities in the remotest areas of Sri Lanka.
The electrification project promoted by Naps Systems in three different provinces simultaneously, concerned 440 schools, 147 health centers and included the installation of 587 water pumps and 440 staff houses depending on schools or health centers. It therefore provides over 250 000 families with enhanced education and health facilities.
Naps Systems installed 1614 systems shipped in 78 containers for a net tonnage of 727 tons facing the numerous technical and human challenges the implementation of a turn-key project of this scale implies. The project value amounted 24,6 MEur.
